well.. i shall now post the things that i learnt from the C.A.M.P.
i find that the camp is very experiential
and get to enjoy the camp as a camper with partial role of a leader..
i shall just go through some of the details of quite happening things
Day 1
i started off the camp quite badly with a lack of sleep
cause i went home at 11pm to find myself not having pack anything
so i decided to get my stuff ready and start to pack them
but i keep spacing out and talking to friend on msn
and i ended up sleeping halfway and awake 3 hrs later
but i continue to space off while packing for the next 2 hrs
then went to church to help yu sheng to help logistic
then i had my lunch and waited for people to arrive..
then when we reached the campsite, we are separated into groups
followed by briefing and ice breakers.. which is quite saddening
cause its the first day and the younger youths are not so enthusiatic
plus with me feeling tired i also not able to help out ruth in
bringing up the mood of the group
then i had 2 workshop talking about success and happiness
and the questions that are being asked are
"what is your biggest success in life?" and
"Can i find happiness in a relationship with God? and why?"
i find that i haven't been quite in tune with God for the past weeks
and it really a refresher for me to get back to God
and its a real enjoyment to get back to God
Day 2
its much better with slightly longer rest
with a funny way of doing 5BX that is to have dance movement
for the chorus of king of majesty
followed by devotion and breakfast
then we have 2 workshop
about the world's and God's law
and the reliability of the Bible
that God's law is never-changing while the world's law is
always changing with the decreasing moral value
and that the word of God has the validity of the manuscript
that dated way back in the time of BC
and many historian will agree that the Bible is real
therefore our God is a real God!!
He who will last forever and ever..
then after which we had some teamtime with the group
and there is this guy calld zhiqi who is shy and keeps smiling
so whenever he doesn't know what to say he will keep smiling
and the group had a fun time teasing him
then we had lunch with some rest
and the telematch was improvised as it is raining
but the best part would be the waterlympic!!
though i am the biggest "baby" who is there
but i had a lot of fun washing hair, squeezing the shirt, and sliding
haha.. its real fun with the amount of fun that we can find
then we had some wash-up and campfire..
the campfire at first thought was like it is going to fail again
because the other time the campfire that i went to failed
and it looks exactly like the same so i was telling aaron loh
that this campfire might fail with those woods
but by God's wisdom to the person who prepared, it lasted through
for the whole 2 hours when we had songs, fun with the water bombs
and the dinner with our mess tins..
and the water bomb is real fun!!!
my group was so called having slightly rough play due to me
who keep bombing whoever that comes to my group..(can ask Ma Wen Hao)
and the last part when we had too much water bomb,
we played the 'Nancy Drew Bomb, Nancy Drew Bomb, Nancy Drew Bomb to _____)'
and we use our water bombs for this purpose.. (and my group is nancy drew FYI)
it was a tiring that day for many of us
Day 3
we had photo-taking for that day
its real fun when you had tom and zhe hao trying to outwit one another
in the competition for who is the most handsome guy at the side
its really a good joke.. i can't help but keep laughing there
then we had something called indiana bones ~the search for the missing ingredients
it is something like amazing race whereby we run the race in search for FOOD!!
we had much fun with the leading of the group by tom and ruth
and especially fun with zhe hao who keep disturbing us
as zhe hao is the mobile station, he keep going around
and he would just appear to our group when our group is at one station
so we can't help it but to wait till we are done with the station
then we can find him!! but he is also nice to our group by bringing
us to a place near a rubbish bin so that we can throw our rubbish..
(thank you zhe hao)
then we went back to the campsite to have our sandwich
which is the food that we fought so hard for..
after which we had the last 2 workshops
"Understanding the Times - Are You Prepared?"
"Who am I?"
the former one is talkng about whether are we prepared for the next Christ coming
and telling us that several of what the Bible talks about the famine and drought
are happening throughout the world..
while the latter is talking about identity crisis
on who are we in the eyes of the world and God's eyes
that we are all called to be son of God..
and God cherish us and love us so much that He sent His son to die for
our sins!! How great His love is for you and me!!
its just waiting for us to receive and believe that God is real
and that He is the Saviour for everyone of us
then we had our washup with the special dinner..
it is special is because we had to bid with the points that the group
had accumulated for the past 2 days to buy our food!!
and my group was like working together with dickson's group
therefore we had a great time bidding and my group would considered
the most wonderfully gathered quite a handsome amount of food
we had roti prata, green tea, MacDonald's apple pie, a pot of salad
and most of us had too much food that we can't finish the salad (too much le!!)
then we went for the special N.I.T.E (Newness~I~Tasted~Eternity)
its really the first time i enjoyed worshipping God so much
that with my voice getting coarse, i still want to sing out for God..
its real a great experience that i had there..
to hear the saints of God's people sing out and praising God together
worshipping His name and singing out with our voice..
then there is a special programme that the adults had done
that is the hand mime with the song "Who am i by Casting Crowns"
its really touched me so much that i teared throughout the whole show
to look back at these past year, i wondered how many times i had sinned against God
and how many times had i actually repented from my sins..
it made me ashamed how great of a God i have..
who love me even though i failed one too many time..
and i thanked God that i'm there to experience this love that rekindled once again
Day 4
hmmm.. that day was kind of sad for me but happy because of something as well
sad because the camp is coming a close
and the time i can spend with them would sort of end it there and then
i pack my stuff and had reflection
thinking though all the activity that i had gone through
it is really wonderful.. to know that there is a God that so loved me
that i enjoyed the companionship with the group
as we grow together in Christ and build one another in faith
it is really amazing how much God has loved me..
i think i learned a lot from this camp
and i will say that i did not regret going for such camps
to show me back to God.. its worth all the time i had spent
and i really hope that those friends whom i invited had been there
to really experience God in such a special way..
then now for some RANDOMNESS
*i'm the devotion group leader for wesley tan and darien tan
*aaron loh was my devotion group helper^^v
